The Secret of Giving

I just got off a call with one of my favorite clients. We did a great visualization to help her manifest the attendees she wants at a workshop she’s putting together. She shared that during the release portion of the meditation a lot of fear came up for her and she acknowledged that she’s been feeling shut down in her heart lately.

Of course, my suggestion to remedy this was to begin to give more consciously. Giving is my latest secret weapon to help address any affliction. If I’m feeling poor, I give something away. If I’m feeling sick, I give. If I’m feeling depleted in any way, I give. And it really works!

As my friend Mbali says: “Giving of any sort… taking an action… is what begins the process of change.”

I love that idea.

I can’t believe DAY 29 OF the GIVING CHALLENGE has come and gone for me. The mindful practice of sharing the abundance I'm blessed with each day has changed me for the better.

AFTER 29 DAYS OF GIVING:

  • I feel like I'm surrounded by love and being supported from every direction.
  • I believe on a deeper level that I am good enough.
  • I'm more capable of receiving assistance and love from the universe.
  • It is easier for me to laugh and smile.
  • Fun is easier to find each day.
  • Peace and serenity are more accessible to me.
  • I am more in awe of the people around me and tend to notice their good qualities.
  • I feel overwhelming gratitude.
  • I enjoy reaching my hand out to offer or receive help.
  • I am in significantly less physical and emotional pain.
  • Money is now flowing to me easily and effortlessly.
  • I feel in touch with a higher sense of power than I've ever been able to access before.
  • I could go on and on, but you get the point.

In the wise words of Mahatma Gandhi:
“The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.”

The past 29 days have proven this to be true for me. It is impossible for me to know how the gifts I've given so far have impacted the recipients, but I'm astounded at the gifts I've received. When I started my challenge, I wanted to see what would happen in my life if I focused my energy on giving for 29 days. There’s no way I could have anticipated what has unfolded for me.

By Day 29, I was astounded by the magical and miraculous shifts in my energy for life:

  • I am feeling happier, healthier, and more in awe with life – one of my original intentions.
  • I find myself smiling and laughing more and more every day.
  • My body is stronger and I was able to stop walking with my cane by the end of week two.
  • My business has exploded with new opportunities amounting to several thousand in unanticipated income and a lot of new clients.
  • I have started connecting with a community of new friends in Los Angeles after feeling isolated in my new home for several months after my move from San Francisco.
  • My creativity has opened up and I began writing stories regularly again for the first time in over two years since my Multiple Sclerosis diagnosis.
  • I began experiencing a deeper intimacy in my relationship with my husband.
  • The list of changes goes on and on. This is only the beginning.

I’m so inspired, I’ve started the challenge again and today is day 5. If I can find the willingness to commit to this Challenge twice, surely 1,999 others will decide to do it once. (By the way, as of this writing, we have 172 Committed Givers signed up!)

If you decide to join us, make sure you also stay open to receive through the 29 days. So often we forget that giving is a dynamic process and receiving is just as important as giving. Sometimes we over-give to the point of feeling depleted because we aren’t allowing reciprocation of our gifts.

Part of the larger intention of the 29-Day Giving Challenge experiment is to help increase the field of abundance on the entire planet – and that means for you as well!!

Sign up today and join us. You don’t know what will come of it unless you try.
