I have been involved with a women's group for the past six months that is led by an African Medicine Woman named Mbali, who I just love. We meet each month and do a ritual together and learn about ancestral healing and lots of other things. Mbali is a really great group facilitator and an amazingly wise woman. The healing I've been experiencing as a result of each ritual is deeply profound.
In November we did a mineral ritual that included a shamanic-style journey that was really wonderful. At the end of the journey, we were to ask our ancestors the question, "What is my purpose in this lifetime." I got a very clear answer to that question.
I was told that my purpose is to empower other women to awaken to the riches within themselves. This is in line with the work I'm doing today, which is really exciting and validating for me.

Path of Purpose
a poem by Cami Walker
Well being. Nurturing spirit. Trusting mind.
Holding heart. Feeding body.
Simple priorities.
The reason for being? For staying? For me?
Inspiring. Motivating.
The common pursuit of personal truth.
Whatever that means.
How? Following the mission means keeping it in sight.
In range but just out of reach.
Staying on the path of purpose. Feet planted. Rooted.
The hard part.
Living passion. Breathing certainty.
Reaching out when you feel like curling in.
Hiding. Ducking away.
Finding balance between the need to shelter yourself,
and your desire to serve the collective.
How? Somehow. However it's speaking to you.
Feeling yourself. Accepting your everyness.
The joyful. The enthusiastic. The creative. The loving.
And the furious. The sobbing. The obsessive. The crazed.

Love and light to all of you.
